Get CPT* Training
If you are wondering how and where to begin, consider this path.
The CURRENT CPT CLASS began JANUARY 22.
NEXT CLASS begins April 10. Orientation is March 27.
The Certified Production Technician* (CPT) is an industry recognized certificate verifying a student has mastered essential training in Safety, Quality Practices & Measurement, Manufacturing Processes & Production, and Maintenance Awareness.
You can have an exciting career in manufacturing.
The CPT is a first step in preparing you to be a productive team member in a manufacturing environment. Get certified!
A 10 Week Class
Locally, you can enroll in a CPT course, and if you decide to continue on, it is worth up to 16 credits toward an Engineering Technology Associate’s Degree at EFSC.
Interested but can’t do the January class? Contact the EDC to find out when additional classes begin. And ask about CPT Tuition Support (scholarships for Brevard County residents).
Why Train to be a CPT
Certifications significantly increase the employability and wages of those who earn them. There is no shortage of individuals with no skills, but those who have demonstrated their commitment to a career by earning an industry certificate will rise to the top of the list for manufacturers seeking new employees.

The course is a 10-week synchronous online course where you will view and participate in a lecture Monday and Wednesday nights, from 6 – 10 pm from your own computer. During the lecture you may ask questions and have immediate response from your instructor. If you are unable to participate in the live lecture, a link will be available for viewing afterwards. At that point you may email your questions.
Practice quizzes and vocabulary sheets are used to further prepare the student for each exam. Study labs will be available prior to each exam where the student can review the lessons and ask questions. Additional labs and extended training may be scheduled.
